Three of our members recently attended the TNZ National High Performance Training Camp held in Palmerston North. This training camp is targeted at athletes wanting to develop their skills and get identified as potential New Zealand national representitves.
Our head instructor Alan Brian attended the camp as one of the TNZ National Kyorugi coaches.
Senior instructor Mary Maravilla (TUNZ Regional Poomsae Director) attended the camp as an athlete alongside club member Christine Castro.
The 3 day camp involved fitness testing for all athletes as well as drills, tactics, mock competitions, use of electronic sparring gear, injury management and prevention as well as hot/cold pool recovery.
Athletes from all over NZ attended the camp and it was inspiring to see everyones passion and enegy for the sport and the future of Taekwondo here in NZ.
