Dear Masters, Instructors and Members,

It brings great pleasure to invite you all to the 2019 Hyeon Mu Taekwondo Invitational tournament. This event is held at the Woodend Community Centre, 6 School Road, on Saturday the 16th February, 2019.

This is a WT style tournament that is aimed at those who are new to competing, those who want to learn how to be an official, and also to experienced athletes and officials. We will be offering Kyorugi, Individual Poomsae, Pairs Poomsae and Team Poomsae to all colour belts (8th gup and above) and Black Belts. All Kyorugi will be full contact under WT rules, with no head contact for competitors under 13 years of age. Please make sure that all competitors are aware of the tournament rules, the safety gear requirements, and the attached Hazard Control Plans for the major hazards present during the competition.

Please note that Daedo PSS electronic scoring system will be used for all 2-1 gup and black belt fights. If anyone needs Gen2 Daedo E-socks, you can pre-order through us and we will have them for you at competition. These are $80 each. Gear orders must be received by 5pm February 4th, 2019, and subject to availability.

All team lists and entry fees must be received by 5 pm, 8th February, 2019.

For those travelling from out of town and need accommodation, Rangiora and Kaiapoi both have options and are both under a 10 minute drive from the venue. Christchurch Airport is 20 minutes from venue.

Later on during the year we will also be hosting the Hyeon Mu Open. We will be hoping to attract athletes from across Oceania and have a full PSS system. We will be running a round-robin system for black belts so they will get multiple fights for a fair competition with awards for best competitors. This will be a good test for them and good for spectators. More news about this will be released in the New Year.
