Each class is focussed on allowing a blend of fun and enjoyment while still learning the required syllabus needed for grade promotion.
This is done through direct support from senior instructors and your peers alike in a safe, fun, and friendly environment.
The class is made up of about 60/40 gender mix (60% male / 40% female ) , and students come from all walks of life.

Kids Tournament Class
5.30 - 6.30pm
This class is aimed at those who want an introduction in tournament sparring. It is also suitable for those who wish to improve their contact and pre-arranged sparring, both of which are required for grading. The class will develop sparring skills and techniques in a fun environment, and will heavily benefit those who want to learn. The class is designed to have an easy learning curve, an aspect not possibly in the Saturday tournament class, with more advanced techniques necessary for sparring included, which would not otherwise be covered until a higher grade has been attained. If you are interested or want to find out more, feel free to turn up on a Friday and observe the class.

It is possible to represent New Zealand as a successful poomsae practitioner at international events including the world championships. Poomsae teams will be formed and are also able to compete. As a parent who has three children that started with our club and have progressed through to their black belts, I became consciously aware of the time given and dedication from our instructors. We all need to pause at times and remember that we are a non-profit club. Our instructors give and give; their time and experience; their knowledge; to you on a daily basis out on the mat and behind the scenes.
Acknowledging someone, showing appreciation and respect for others, saying thank you, should be part of our daily lives.
